What you need to know when coming to Shop Task Calgary

Welcome to Shop Task in Calgary Ab.  We are the home base for Inline skating in Calgary.  We are committed to promoting Inline skating as a healthy life-sport and family activity by providing the best inline skating equipment, service and instruction.

When coming from the West side of Calgary take 14 Street or Crowchild Trail to Kensington Road east.  Right on 10A Street.  Bernard Callebaut is on the corner of 10A and Kensington.

Parking 

Street parking is available in front of the shop on 10A Street or throughout Kensington.  Street parking is metered everyday except on Sunday.  Street parking is hit or miss and can be tricky.

WEEKDAYS, I recommend parking a few blocks from the shop by Hillhurst United Church.  There is free 2 hour parking on Kensington Close between 12 Street and 13 Street, and on 13 Street between Kensington Close and Kensington Road.  Highlighted on the map in green.

SATURDAY, I recommend parking in the Kensington Gate Public Parking lot, located right beside the shop.  Parking is $3.15 for the day.  Highlighted on the map in blue

SUNDAY is free parking day.  All street parking is free!!

Sales and Service

We offer Calgary's best selection of inline skates and equipment.  We specialize in good quality equipment that will give a great skating experience.  

We sell almost everything that is featured on our website.  If there is something online that we don't have in store we can do the fitting and ordering in store.  Then the item will be shipped directly to your house.

Yes we fix skate!  We can replace your old wheels, bearings and brake pads.  If something is missing or broken then we can almost always fix it.  No matter how old your skates are we can get them rolling again.

Skate Rentals

$7 / Hour 

$30 / Day

Day rentals are to be returned the following day by closing time.

Must be 18 years of age or accompanied by legal guardian.

Skate rentals include helmet, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads.  

Skate Lessons

Skate lessons are a joint project between Alien Inline Skate School and Shop Task.  Instructors are certified, experience and eager to help. More information including waiver forms can found at ALIEN INLINE. Two types of lessons are available.  

DROP IN LESSONS

Are designed for a skater with limited experience who wants to learn the basic skating skill required to navigate pathways around Calgary.  Topics covered are basic stride, gliding, heal brake stop, grass rolls and proper falling technique.  Helmet, wrist, knee, elbow protection required.  

Time - Every Saturdays.  Registeration 10:00am at Shop Task.

PERSONAL LESSONS

Designed for a true beginner or someone looking to add specific skills to their inline skating tool box.  Personal lessons can be arranged at preferred times and locations.

$45/h (individual) 

$60/h (2 - 4 people)
